GERALDINE KENNEDY served with the first group of Peace Corps Volunteers in Liberia during the heady time of independence for many African nations. She returned to the United States to raise a family, have a hand in local politics, earn a masters degree, and found a publishing company. She is an officer of PEN-USA and lives happily in sunny Southern California.
All the contributors to FROM THE CENTER OF THE EARTH are former Peace Corps Volunteers. You can find articles about them and listings of their other writing on the Peace Corps Writers website.
